Pandora

Everyone has a favorite radio station. Well, I take that back. Everyone has, at one time or another, had a favorite radio station. Pandora is for those of you who's favorite station was about music.

Imagine a DJ that knows exactly what you like. The DJ plays stuff you know and love, and also spends hours and hours tracking down stuff that you've never heard but would be right up your alley. Pandora asks you to tell them an artist or two you like and that's it. You've got a station.

As you listen, click the “add variety” button to enter another artist or song. Select thumbs up or thumbs down (just like Tivo) to help them fine tune. Create another station so you can select according to your mood.

Pandora works amazingly well. They tap into the Music Genome Project to figure out what songs are like what other songs. I've been impressed with how spot on its selections and recommendations are.

So far I have two stations. Here's my Talking Heads/Reggae station.
